Si vis pacem, para bellum
Welcome to my 2012 survivors guide.
Here You can get some thoughts and ideas on how to be prepared if...
Hello, reader! If you found this site on the internet then you are as concerned as i am. It is hard to pretend that the world still the same. With such amount of major disasters in short period of time it is hard to remain skeptical. Global warming, World economy crisis ( or collapse? ), Island volcano, earthquakes, nuclear disaster in Japan, constant war in middle east, you name what else and what's next. And lets not forget in 2012 three biggest and strongest countries (USA, Russia, China) will be choosing new leaders ( consequences ?). In the light of those "events" modern interpretation of ancient Maya calendar ending predictions does not sound so unrealistic.
Well, all philosophical talking wouldn't probably help if some thing really happens, so lets be practical and prepare our salves as much as we can. First we have to understand that we'll be on our own, and no one will help. So, come up with plan, what you and your family members will do in case something happens, make sure every one has a copy of it, come up with several meeting places in case someone is lost, come up with phone number(s) of somebody you know through which you can communicate (in case your phones are unaccessible), prepare survival gear kit, emergency food and water kit, have your vehicle in good shape, bay some practical survival literature and hope that you wouldn't have to use none of this!
Every year we spend thousands of dollars on stuff that we don't even need and never use, so why, why not spend it on some thing that may save your life? You need to come up with a plan that you are going to stick with in case if day comes. This is the most important part of everything we are trying to do here. In case of emergency we just not going to have enough time to make right decision, and won't be able to act in orderly manner in chaotic situation.
| Useful links Global Illumination Council If you live in the city it'll be more complicated for you guys. Your main goal would be to survive first hit, then get your family together and get your transport, and survival gear kit. It'll be mostly a matter of luck and circumstances. So, keep your kit in your car, have hand held radios in working order and accessible to all family members as well as copies of your plan. Determine meeting place, your home is the first option, find several near by ( but in the direction you going to move ) for emergency meetings in case some one gets lost, determine waiting time ( ex. 2 hours in first place, 1 hour in all the rest of them ) adjust it if you see it is appropriate and you have communication, leave city as fast as possible, avoid big bridges and highways stay concealed and alert. Remember, criminals have more surviving skills then you do and when there is no police around guess what they are going to do in order to survive. So, have some weapons in your possession to. When you in the safe place do inventory, make shelter, distribute responsibilities and carriage (if you have to walk), acquire as much information as you can (radio, phones, internet) some of this might still work and then come up with your next move. | Here is food and items list you may consider some of it for your survival gear kit. I would suggest to buy a basic kit which easily can be found on the internet and then just add stuff that will suite your needs.
